Desktop Alerts all you to push alert messages to Windows Computers. These can be used along with the Screensaver App to maximize Enplug performance on Windows.
Note: Every actively running instance of the Desktop Alert will require a license. If you have no available licenses on your account, alerts won't appear on desktops.
Software Requirements
To use Desktop Alerts, you must install the Enplug Computer Desktop software on your computer and connect to your Display Group(s).
Configuring Desktop Alerts
- Log into Enplug.
- Using the Apps drop-down menu at the top of your dashboard, select the Desktop Alerts App.
- Select a template to get started, or select Blank Canvas to create your own alert from scratch.
- Name the alert.
- Change the alert size and position on the computer screen.
You can select an existing alert component to edit it. This will prompt an editing menu at the top of your screen.
You can add a new component to your alert by selecting one from the listing in the left side menu:
- Text - Customize the color, size, and font
- Date - Select Format to adjust the date formatting
- Shape - Customize fill and outline colors
- Countdown/up - Select a timer format
- Image - Upload images from your computer, browser, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, or Google Photos (.JPEG, .PNG, or .GIF)
- Button - Add an action button to the alert
Sending Desktop Alerts
To send a Desktop Alert:
- After completing alert configuration via the steps above, click Save.
- Select the Display Group(s) you'd like to send the alert to.
- Click Save Changes.
The alert will then sent to the computer(s) in this Display Group(s). If computer(s) are turned off when the alert is sent, the alert will be received the next time they're powered on.
Scheduling Desktop Alerts
Scheduling can be used to send alert during relevant times or to plan in advance.
To schedule an alert:
- After selecting the Display Group(s) you'd like the alert sent to, navigate to the Schedule tab.
- Toggle on Schedule for Later.
- Select the desired date and time.
- If desired, select and end date and time.
- Check the Delete when expired box to automatically remove the alert from your library at its end date.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: Access scheduling from the Desktop Alert library. To modify, select an alert using the Displays column.
Creating Desktop Alert Templates
Alert templates allow you to create alerts that can be used by other users in your organization.
Note: This is an Enterprise feature. Contact your Account Manager if you're interested in adding this feature to your account.
- After creating an alert, navigate to it in your Desktop Alert Library.
- Click the wand icon labeled Convert To Template.
- You'll be directed to the template Setup page.
- Click Go to Template Mode at the top of the window.
- Select and name which properties users can edit.
- Click Save.
Following this, you can Navigate to My Templates to make any desired edits.
Users will now see the alert template in the My Templates tab when selecting a layout.
