Enplug devices will only work with wireless networks that are protected with WPA/WPA2 encryption.
Enplug devices only work on wireless networks protected with WPA/WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) encryption. WPA2 in combination with other encryption methods such as PSK (Pre-Shared Key) is known as WPA2 Personal.
Note: WPA2-PSK [AES] is recommended.
To set your network encryption to WPA2-PSK:
Note: Initial steps and settings may differ depending on your router brand and model.
- Enter your router's IP address into the address bar of your Internet browser to access its configuration page.
- A default IP address is typically 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
- Enter the admin username and password for the router and login.
- Navigate to the Wireless section of the Settings menu.
- Select the proper encryption method from the list and click Apply.
Note: If this is your first time changing router settings, it's recommended to get assistance from someone more familiar with your network (Network Admin, IT Team, etc.).
