Menu Board Overrides

Overrides allow you to prepare alternate content to display on menus when an event begins or an operating condition changes. This allows you to turn content on or off (replacing content on multiple screens) using one toggle.

From My Menus in the Menu Board app, you can create new, and view assigned, overrides.

Creating a New Override

To create a new override:

1. Log into Enplug.
2. Click the Apps drop-down in the top menu.
3. Open the Menu Board app.
4. Navigate to My Menus.
5. Locate the menu you’d like to use as an override and, in the Overrides column, click +Add.
6. In the Add Override window, click Create New Override.
7. Name the override (EX: No Alcohol).
   • Override names can be edited/updated at any point.
8. Click Next.
9. Select the desired Display Group(s).
10. Click Save Changes.

Notes: 

• An override name must contain 1–16 characters (letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores, ampersands, and plus signs). 
• When a new override is created, it’ll default to Off status.

Assigning an Override

To assign an override:

1. Log into Enplug.
2. Click the Apps drop-down in the top menu.
3. Open the Menu Board app.
4. Navigate to My Menus.
5. Locate the menu you’d like to use as an override and, in the Overrides column, click +Add.
   • Assigned overrides will appear purple in the Overrides column.
6. In the Add Override window, select an override.
7. Click Next.
8. Select the desired Display Group(s).
9. Click Save Changes.

Notes:

• Override content will continue to play until it’s set to inactive (turned off).
• Only one override can be assigned to a Display Group.
• Multiple overrides can be active at the same time, as long as they’re applied to different Display Groups.
• To build a coordinated group, select the same existing override for each menu. Check its current status (active or off) before adding more menus.
• My Menus can be filtered by override tags.

Removing an Override

To remove an override:

1. Log into Enplug.
2. Click the Apps drop-down in the top menu.
3. Open the Menu Board app.
4. Navigate to My Menus.
5. Navigate to the override you’d like to remove.
6. Click the X to the right of the override name.
7. In the Remove Override? window, click Remove Override.

After successful removal, the +Add button will reappear in the menu’s Override column.

Dashboard Widget

A widget can be added to your Enplug dashboard for quick access to your menu board override(s). From the widget, you’ll be able to toggle desired overrides on/off as well as Edit and/or Delete.

To use the override widget:

1. Log into Enplug.
2. From your dashboard, click Edit Widgets in the top right corner.
   • This will prompt a + icon labeled Add Widget.
3. Click on the + icon and select Overrides.
   • The widget will appear on your dashboard and you’ll see a complete list of available overrides.
4. Use the toggle to the right of an override name to toggle it on (active) or off (inactive).
5. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) to Edit or Delete an override.
