Installation & Setup
It’s recommended that you use a mounting bracket to attach your media player to the back of your television/display. Using any media player mounting bracket that works for your setup prevents accidental movement and allows for proper ventilation of your player.
To mount your media player:
- Ensure your television/display has mounting capabilities and that the bracket is compatible with your player.
- Reference the instructions provided with your mounting bracket to secure it to your television/display in a suitable location.
- Using materials (screws, clips, straps, etc.) provided with your mounting bracket, secure your player to the bracket.
If you choose to not use a mounting bracket, you’ll want to ensure your player is in a stable, ventilated area such as on a table/shelf or attached to a wall (using proper hardware) near your television/display.
Note: Don’t use temporary adhesives when attaching or mounting your player. This can damage your player and television/display.
To connect your TV:
- Connect an HDMI cable from your player to your television.
Note: Be sure to keep in mind which HDMI input you use on your television (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.).
- Connect the power adapter to your media player and a power outlet.
- When the player first boots, you’ll be taken through the boot animation, leading to the passphrase screen.
To connect your player to WiFi:
- Connect the wireless antenna to the back of your player.
- Plug your keyboard into an available USB slot on the player.
- When the player powers on, you’ll be taken to a setup screen that’ll prompt you to press the spacebar on your keyboard.
- Using your keyboard, toggle Use Wi-Fi on.
- Choose your network, enter the password, and select Connect.
- When connected, you’ll be taken to the passphrase screen.
Note: Never use guest WiFi.
To connect using an Ethernet cable:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the player.
- The player will typically connect automatically.
