The Enplug Power BI app lets you display public and private reports from your Microsoft Power BI platform.
Notes:
- A Power BI Pro or Premium account is required to use private reports in the app.
- If using a Pro account, you may see a message explaining that you're using a trial version and need to update capacity.
- The Power BI account being used must have administrative privileges.
Accessing Power BI App
To access the Power BI app:
- Log into Enplug.
- Click the Apps drop-down in the top menu.
- Open the Power BI app.
- Click Add to create a new report.
From here, you'll create a public or private report.
Creating and Displaying Public Reports
To create and/or display a public report:
- Login into your Power BI account to create, or open an existing, report.
- Use the Publish to web (public) function to copy the report's embed code.
- Return to the Power BI app on your Enplug dashboard and follow the steps in Accessing Power BI App to generate a new public report.
- Provide the requested information.
- Click Save.
- Select the Display Group(s) you'd like to Teams sent to.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: If you encounter any issues when attempting to generate the link, ensure your administrator has Publish to web toggled on in the Admin Portal.
Accessing and Displaying Private Reports
To access and display a private report:
- Follow the steps in Accessing Power BI App to generate a new private report.
- Provide the requested information.
- Click Sign In with your Office Account.
- After the Microsoft login is successful, and the permissions are accepted, the Select Group drop-down with available workspaces will appear.
- Select the desired group.
- Select the report and the report page that you want displayed on screen.
- Click Save.
- Select the Display Group(s) you'd like to Teams sent to.
- Click Save Changes.
Notes:
- When using the app for the first time, an administrator of the Microsoft organization will have to accept permissions to ensure proper function.
- If you have two-factor enabled, you'll need to enter the code that is sent to your connected device.
- If you're having trouble displaying a private report, it may be because the report depends on multiple models. In this scenario, you can use the Datasets Advanced section to select a report. In order to use the Datasets Advanced section, you must know the structure of the report in Power BI. Specifically, the datasets nested in the report with the issue.
