Using the Data Connect feature, you can import text, dates, or images from a data source into the Templates apps.

Web Data Connector
To use the Web Data Connector:
- Login to Enplug.
- Click the Apps dropdown in the top-menu, then navigate to the Templates app.
- Click on the Data tab in the top-menu.
- Click Connect Data.
- Select Web Data Connector.
- From here, you’ll connect your data source.
Reference the respective steps below to either Pull or Push the data source connection.
Pull Connection
To pull data from a source connection:
- Under Select your Connection type, click Pull Connection.
- Enter your system’s webhook in the Web URL field.

Add Query Parameters to pull specific data.
- These options include Name, Value, Encrypt, and Display Group.
- Click Add to create additional parameters.
- Click the trashcan icon next to a parameter to remove it.

Add HTTP Headers to provide additional context and metadata with the data pulled.
- Here, you’ll follow the same steps as outlined with Query Parameters.
- Set an API Refresh Frequency to determine how often data is updated.
- Click Test Connection.
- After the connection test is successful, click Next.
- If mapping from a different path than the root of your data source, you’ll enter a Data Path String.
- Enter Mappings to generate template columns for JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) data.
- Enter a Name and select the data type (Text, Date, Image, or Percentage).
- Click Add to create additional mappings.
- Click the trashcan icon next to a mapping to remove it.
- Click Add.
- Next, you’ll populate the data. Reference the Populating Data section below.
Push Connection
To push data to a source connection:
- Under Select your Connection type, click Push Connection.
- Click Copy URL, then paste the Enplug URL into your data system.
- Click Next.
- If mapping from a different path than the root of your data source, you’ll enter a Data Path String.
- Enter Mappings to generate template columns for JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) data.
- Enter a Name and select the data type (Text, Date, Image, or Percentage).
- Click Add to create additional mappings.
- Click the trashcan icon next to a mapping to remove it.
- Click Add.
- Next, you’ll populate the data. Reference the Populating Data section below.
Populating Data
In order to begin populating data, you’ll first need to save your template and refresh to view results.
To do so:
- Click Save in the top-right corner of the Templates menu.
- Choose the Display Groups where you’d like the template applied.
- Click Save Changes.
- Refresh your browser.
- In the Template Library, select the desired data.
- Data from the entered source will populate in the Data tab.
Note: Once data is populated in a spreadsheet, you can link content to a template canvas to create dynamic signs and customer triggers.

Changing Data Settings
To change data settings:
- From the Data tab, click Edit Data Connection in the top-right menu.
- Follow the steps outlined above to set up a Pull or Push connection to data.
- Click Done.
- Follow the process of Populating Data.
Note: Data can't be manually edited in a templates spreadsheet as it's linked to an API. Data must be edited from a file source.
