Using Enplug on Sony Pro Bravia Displays

Overview

Enplug has created a new Android App to be used with Sony Pro Bravia displays. Below outlines how to install the Enplug Player using the Google Store and provided URL. Centralized and automated rollouts can be done using your MDM or other IT tools.

Requirements

  1. A Sony Pro Bravia (SoC) display
  2. A Google Play Store Account

 

Instructions

  1. On each Sony ProBravia device, open the URL:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=spectrio.com.enplug.player

  2. Select “Install” and follow the Google Play Store installation wizard to install the App on your device.

      • Optional: if prompted, grant permissions to prioritize the app overlay.
  3. The Enplug App install is now complete and the App is available to launch on the device and will require to be linked to a Display Group. Instruction found here: Link a Device to Existing Apps Content

 

Automatically Launch Enplug Player

Optionally, you can configure the Enplug Player App to automatically launch when the Sony Pro Bravia Display is Powered-On. To do so, follow these instructions:

  1. Turn-on Pro Mode on your display by following Sony's instructions found here: Pro Settings > Start Pro Mode
  2. Select “Start-up services” and then select the Enplug player from the list of available Apps.mceclip0.png
  3. When prompted, “Install” the App and then select “OK” to reboot.

    The Enplug Player will now automatically start when the Display is Powered On.

Additional Information

If your Sony Bravia device fails to play properly. Please try clearing the CACHE as this will resolve most common player issues.

  1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. The next steps depend on your TV menu options:
  4. Select Apps → See all apps → Show system apps.
  5. Select Apps.
  6. Under System apps, select your preferred app.
  7. Select Clear cache, then select OK.
  8. If the issue still occurs, move on to the next step.
  9. Select Clear data, then select OK.
  10. If displayed, select CLEAR ALL DATA, and then OK.
