Categories can be used with integrations to organize products. For example, certain menu items can be categorized in a POS Integration as Grill, Breakfast, etc. This differs from adding a list of products as any item tagged in a selected category is automatically added/removed from a dynamic product list to reflect any changes made with an integration.
Adding a Category
To add a category:
- Log into Enplug.
- Follow the process of Adding Integration Data to a New Menu Canvas.
- From the Menu page, in the top menu, click the lightning icon labeled Add dynamic products from an integration.
- From the Source dropdown, select the desired integration.
-
Add Filtering criteria.
- The Select category dropdown will display any category data available from the integration.
- The Select Value dropdown will display all available values.
- To add additional filters, click the + icon.
- Click Done.
Following this, one of two messages will appear:
- Products successfully imported
-
No products found for selected filter, please try another configuration
- Note: Applying different filter criteria will remedy this issue.
From here, you can click the pencil icon to edit the layout, select the properties you’d like displayed and format accordingly.
To View or Edit a Category
To view or edit a category of products:
- Log into Enplug.
- Follow the process of Adding Integration Data to a New Menu Canvas.
- Add a category (see above).
- From the Menu page, click on the Dynamic Product List you’d like to view or edit.
- On the right-side menu, click the Content Rules dropdown.
- Here, you’ll see applied categories.
- To edit, click the pencil icon to the right of the category you’d like to edit.
- Select a new filter.
- The menu canvas will automatically update with the new filter.
Data Formatting
You can adjust the appearance of data for all items in a category.
To do so:
- Log into Enplug.
- Follow the process of Adding Integration Data to a New Menu Canvas.
- From the Product Library page, in the top menu, click the pencil icon labeled Edit Fields Type.
-
All available data fields will be presented.
- You can scroll or use the search bar in the right-hand corner to browse available data fields.
-
Select the field you’d like to edit, then change the data type using the dropdown menu:
- Price: This adds currency and two decimal places.
- Number: This rounds data to whole numbers.
- Prefix: This adds text before all items in a column.
- Suffix: This adds text after all items in a column.
- True/False: This allows you to select an image or icon to display when data is either True or False (EX: when ‘is gluten free’ = true, display gluten icon).
Note: Once saved, formatting will be applied to all data in a category. You don’t need to format items individually.
