Requirements
To use a LG WebOS television for Enplug display, the following are required:
- A commercial grade LG WebOS television with a WebOS 4.0 or higher operating system.
- 4.02.xx firmware or higher.
- Power and Internet connection for the television.
- A remote control for the television.
Note: WebOS Smart TVs aren’t supported.
Prepping an LG WebOS Television
After powering on your television, you’ll first need to determine the version that device is running.
To do so:
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Navigate to and select Settings.
- Navigate to the General section.
- Select System Information.
- Confirm your television is running WebOS 4.0 or higher.
Note: This is where you’ll also confirm your television’s firmware version.
Next, you’ll need to configure the time and date on your television. This allows the Enplug app and cloud service to communicate.
To configure time and date:
- Press the gear icon on your remote to launch Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Time & Date.
- Select Set Automatically.
- Navigate to Timezone and select the correct continent, country/territory, and city where your television is operating.
Installing the Enplug App
To install the Enplug app onto your LG WebOS television:
- Press the gear icon on your remote to launch Settings.
- Navigate to Ez Settings.
- Select SI Server Setting.
- Configure the SI Server Setting to the following (reference screenshot below):
- Fully Qualified Domain Name: On
- Address URL: http://downloads.spectrio.com/webos/com.lg.app.signage.ipk
- Application Launch Mode: Local
- Application Type: IPK
- Auto Set: Off (if applicable).
- Local Application Upgrade: Remote
- Select Confirm to continue.
- This will prompt a Start Application Upgrade pop-up message.
- Select Confirm.
- Once you’ve received notice that the upgrade is complete, select OK.
- After the message leaves the screen, power off your television using the remote.
- Wait 10 seconds, then use the remote to power your television on.
- You’ll again see that the upgrade is complete, select OK.
- This will launch the Enplug app.
Once connected, a two-word passphrase from Enplug will be displayed on your television.
Following the on-screen instructions, use this passphrase to connect to your Enplug account.
From here, there are two different ways to link content to your account:
- Follow these steps to link the device to existing content.
- Follow these steps to link the device to new content.
