FAQ: Hardware and Internet Requirements

What kind of displays do I need?

Any display with a resolution of 1080P or higher and an HDMI input will support the Enplug Device out of the box.

We also support resolutions lower than 1080P, although this is generally not recommended due to the lower quality resolution. Please let us know in advance if you plan on running your device on a display with a resolution less than 1080P.

What kind of Wi-Fi is needed to run Enplug?

Your Wi-Fi network must be able to maintain a stable connection with adequate signal strength to the area where Enplug will be deployed. The Enplug Device 4k is compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac networks on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. Though in most locations we recommend 2.4GHz and not 5GHz.

If your Wi-Fi is not strong enough in your desired area you have several options.

Some troubleshooting steps include using a range extender or changing the channel settings on your wireless router. Please contact your network administrator, or let our support department know you need help. You can reach our tech team by sending us a ticket here.

What kind of internet connection is needed to run Enplug?

We recommend a broadband internet connection with a minimum bit rate of 6 Mbps.

Does Enplug run on ethernet?

Yes, a hard line internet connection to the Enplug device via ethernet is recommended, although Enplug also works great on WiFi.
